This is a play about the free, frenzied, tragic, and simultaneously reckless and joyful island of Inishmaan, where there is no falsity, and everyone lives anxiously and ingenuously. About a world, which is filled with the energy of life, as long as there are people capable of loving. The more difficult and unbearable conditions are on this island, the stronger its vital energies become, forcing people to discover their spiritual reserves. It is all quite simple: you need to love and endure the loss of a loved one, travel to Hollywood in order to act in a film and thereafter return with a bundle of Chupa Chups to cheer up your neighbour Bartley who is continually ridiculed and pestered, then fight with Babbybobby and beg forgiveness, and then forgive yourself so that you can once again discover and love the world, even if you only have three months left to live.
